Welcome to my world!

I guess when I look back, I've been an artist for most of my 34 years of life in one form or another. I also believe that my love for faeries has been a part of me for just as long.

I'm told, for I was only 2, that my first work of art was a "stick" faerie drawn on a page from a book of fairy tales. It has only grown from there.

I grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. This is a beautiful place to grow up and nurture a creative spirit. I was fortunate enough to be able to take many different types of art classes in my formative years. My formal education ended with my study of graphic design at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. I still live in Halifax with my husband Sean, but I take several week out of every year to travel. There's nothing like visiting another part of the world to refresh the senses and give your life a new perspective.

I have always been surrounded by, and sought out, creative and supportive people who have encouraged me to be myself and find my artistic vision. Never has my love for the realm of Faerie been ridiculed or scorned. In fact, I believe that it is because of the "love" for this realm, that I have been able to continually reinvent myself artistically. It has always served as an inspiration for whichever direction my vision has led me, be it graphic design, costume design, illustration, or now, sculpting.

The story of how I found my passion for sculpting is quite a humorous one. I have always been an admirer of contemporary doll art and sculpture. I've collected pieces over the years, and wished that I could join the ranks of these talented artists. I tried sculpting many years ago with not much success, so I didn't think that this particular art form was attainable. My very good friend, Sandra, who was tired of all my wishful musings, came over one afternoon, plopped a block of polymer clay in front of me, and simply said, "Sculpt!" I did, and I haven't stopped since. You can access Sandra's website:

I hope that these few simple words have given you a small glimpse into the world I inhabit. A world of beauty and creativity, where the mind can be set free just to see what can happen. I try to let my work speak for me as much as possible, so, if I'm able to ignite even the smallest spark of imagination or wonder with my sculptures, I've done my job well!

Enjoy!
